The Veggie Burger to end all Veggie Burgers

As a partial vegetarian, I like to find other ways to still enjoy a "burger" every now and again. I have recently developed a taste for quinoa, a wierd little seed that can be prepared in numeous ways. Turns out quinoa makes for a pretty tasty burger.
I was browsing on pinterest to see what type of things people put on their veggie burgers and it turns out just about anything and everything will taste great! So without further ado, my own personalized veggie burger.
Ingredients:
Qrunch Organic Quinoa Burgers - buffalo flavor
- You can make your own patty from scratch but I personally enjoy the Qrunch patties because you can get them in a variety of flavors.
Sweet Potato Fries
Onions
Pickled jalapeños
Pepperjack cheese
Pumpkin beer
Sugar
Honey burger buns
Steps:
The first thing you'll want to do is preheat your oven to whatever the package of your sweet potato fries says. Pre-heating obviously takes some time, so you'll want to knock that out first.
Once the oven is ready to go, put a handful of your sweet potato fries on, as well as the quinoa patty. I've found cooking the patty in the oven is the best, but you can also cook them on the stove top or in a toaster oven.
While those are baking, you'll begin to caramelize your onions. Because I personally like the way the onions taste cooked with pumpkin beer, I choose to use that rather than oil, but you can caramelize them however you prefer. You want to stir the onions around enough so they don't stick to your pan, but not too much to where they don't get the chance to cook at all.
After those are almost completed, I like to add some jalapeños as they are finishing up. Because they have a little kick to them and I'll already have some spicy ingredients in there, I like to sprinkle a little sugar on top to off-set the spice.
The food in the oven should be almost done by now. I always put my bun in for a minute to make it a little toasty - not too long though or it'll get too hard. Now all that's left is asssembling the burger.
I begin with the patty (duh) then put the pepperjack cheese on top of that. It's melt pretty quickly, so don't worry about microwaving the burger or anything to get it soft. The next thing two layers are up to you, but I like to put the onion and jalapeño mix first, topped by the sweet potato fries. And Voila! The best veggie burger ever created has arrived.
I think all of the different flavors mixed together really make the sandwich. And to me, the jalapeños accentuate the rest of the flavors. You can always put whatever you'd like on your burger, those are just the few ingredients I've found taste really good together. But there you have it - my little slice of heaven.
